QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
-
We will bring LNL to you LIVE on Sunday night, October 2, from 6 pm to 8 pm, and you can use the recording on any night of your choosing until Saturday, October 8. LNL is the premier low-cost, high-impact, locally-led event built to start students on a mission together. LNL is a partnership with the local church youth leader and Youth Alive®. We supply all the content you need to run LNL in person with your group. We also engage with your students LIVE through our text-in system. LNL is a 2-hour event: 20 min opening stream, 50 min small group led by the group leader, a youth leader, or a student leader, followed by a 30 min closing stream.
What’s the purpose? To empower students to activate now in everyday mission to their schools and communities.

LNL is laser-focused on students who have said ‘yes’ to Jesus. We carefully choose content and speakers who will help further a student’s journey with Jesus and help students see their campus as their mission field. You can use LNL to network students across a local area for the great purpose of evangelism in their shared schools and communities. It’s a rally with a core small-group activity that focuses those Christ-following students on their everyday mission field. Your regional Youth Alive team will be accessible through our texting service following the event for leaders and students seeking further guidance, network, and resources for their everyday mission.
-
Have you ever attended a conference and wanted the impact to carry on at home? With LNL, we take what students have heard and experienced at larger gatherings and strategically put it into action with students in their schools and communities. The goal is for your students to link arms with the same people they see weekly at church and school as they follow Jesus together on an everyday mission. Even just two students on a mission can be a strength to each other! Bringing the big picture into a smaller setting helps students strategize, network, and apply what they perceive as the call of God for an everyday mission.

The streaming portions of the event come LIVE from University Valley Forge, a Christian college in Pennsylvania. Our hosts will open for about 15 minutes with some entertaining, live host energy and also begin engaging your students with text-and-response interaction through their mobile phones. We will follow this with a greeting from your district Youth Alive® director, who will transition your group to the activity you lead. Over 45 to 55 min, you will lead a discussion with our ready-to-go pre-packaged content to move your students toward a vision for everyday mission in their schools. You have ample time to offer food and lead our icebreaker activity within that block of time. Then everyone returns to the stream for 30 minutes, featuring John Zick, our speaker. John is a national church leader who leads an initiative to help leaders follow their call into vocational ministry. There will be a solid call to action for students to follow Jesus on his mission and a follow-up with texting and virtual meeting following the event.

Do you announce it at youth group? Maybe. Maybe not! Be sure to cast your net to specific students who you want to help meet the call of God toward mission. Bring these students together for LNL. Start with the end in mind: your students connecting at school to pray, care for their school, and to share Christ. Ask yourself, who can be part of that? Now personally tap them on the shoulder to be part of LNL.
-
LNL follows See You at the Pole, a student-led event focused on prayer taking place on Wednesday, September 28th. The week of Sunday, Oct 2nd to Friday, Oct 7th is national student action week. We think October is a strategic time for students to organize or re-launch weekly campus prayer and ministry at school.
-
LNL can work great for youth group meetings! LNL is live on Sunday, Oct 2nd, but you can play the live recording anytime that week with your students. Since all the students at youth group may not have a personal commitment to God’s call, and some may be first-time visitors, keep that in mind as you involve these students in the activity and make modifications for them when necessary.
